Important Note to LRS VPS Customers Upgrading z/OS
Subsequent to upgrading to a z/OS level containing the new DEBCHECK LOCK functionality, which was introduced in mid 2018, customers have reported abends in VPS software, such as S169, S16E, S237 and S300. LRS Support and Development have been assisting IBM in identifying and resolving any known issues which impact the VPS product.
Several APARs and PTFs are associated with this issue, and IBM has indicated the most important are: OA56885 and OA56438, as well as OA57037 when available. Feedback from customers who have applied these PTFs has been positive. Further information can be found at the IBM link below.
In order to receive the most pertinent and up-to-date information, please direct any questions specific to these APARs/PTFs to IBM Support. IBM recommends that customers experiencing these issues open a PMR with IBM support in order to get the PTFs necessary for their current environment.
