For years, LRS has worked to encourage the next generation of IT innovators through our membership in the IT Executive Club of Hamburg as well as our sponsorship of their prestigious IT Cares Award. This event and related initiatives seek to solve a critical problem in our increasingly digital world: developing new generations of IT pioneers to solve the many pressing problems facing our society.

At this year’s ITEC Cares 2025 event, the technology initiatives being recognized ran the gamut from generative AI projects to IT diversity programs to educating youths about social media safety. The biggest prize of the night recognized a program to prevent a form of online harassment called Cybermobbing.

Regarding the IT Cares event, Leo Kaltenhauser, LRS Director of EMEA Sales, said “Supporting these initiatives is a really urgent commitment for both me and for our company. We do this on the other side of the Atlantic, just as we do here in Europe. Unfortunately, too little is happening in politics on these issues that affect our industry and our network. So, we simply have to focus on social engagement. I admire those who roll up their sleeves and say ‘this is a commitment to me, and we want to make progress.’ So, we're happy to once again support this annual event as we have for the fourth year in a row.”

Today, everyone in society—young and old—uses technology in their everyday life as a consumer. But in a world where progress is measured in hours and days rather than years, where will we find talented innovators to lead us through the next frontiers as many current IT professionals prepare for retirement?

Our Leo Kaltenhauser has some thoughts on the matter:
